Your Challenge: Share the Gifts God Gave You with Others

by Mary Pezzulo

I have something very important to tell you: Jesus Christ is on his way.

He is on his way to visit you, he's hungry, and he needs a place to come in and take shelter.

How do you feel? Excited? Honored? Nervous?

What are you going to feed him? How are you going to make Jesus feel welcome? Don't worry about that. He already sent you everything you need, even though you may not realize it.

Our health, talents, and the ability to work and support ourselves are all gifts from God. Christians are never given gifts just for themselves. Everything you have you must share with Christ when he comes to you in the form of those in need. How you do that is up to you.

Maybe all you can do right now is tidy up your living room and be hospitable to an unexpected visitor who needs to feel welcome. Maybe you can volunteer to help a poor or disabled neighbor fix up their house and lawn. Perhaps you can buy extra food for the local pantry whenever you go shopping or bring a sick friend soup and a pan of brownies.

Whatever you do, get ready: Christ is coming to you!
